Israeli army conducts artillery strikes, ground incursion, house burnings in Southern Lebanon

On Monday, the Israeli army launched a series of attacks in southern Lebanon, violating the ceasefire. The National News Agency reported that Israeli forces carried out artillery shelling, a ground incursion, explosions, and house burnings. Israeli forces fired machine guns towards Wadi al-Salouqi in Nabatieh governorate and shelled the town of Mansouri.

Two explosions were reported in the Mansouri area. In Nabatieh, a major explosion occurred in Kfar Tebnit, while artillery fire from Israeli positions targeted the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. Israeli forces also burned several houses in Khiam during their operations. Israeli drones were spotted flying at low altitude over the Zahrani area.

There were no reported casualties or property damage. These attacks followed the seventh round of Lebanese-Israeli talks, which concluded on Thursday in Rome under United States sponsorship. The talks focused on implementing a framework agreement reached on June 26, which calls for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory.

Despite the negotiations, Israel has continued its aggression in Lebanon since March 2, resulting in the deaths of 4,335 people, 12,277 injuries, and the displacement of over 1 million. Lebanon remains occupied by Israel in various territories, and Israel has refused to withdraw or allow the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as called for in relevant United Nations resolutions.
