IGP: Police officers must keep evolving as security landscape grows more dynamic

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — The Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail, has called for police officers to remain vigilant, proactive and adaptable in the face of an increasingly complex security environment. Speaking at a ceremony at Bukit Aman, Mohd Khalid emphasized that promotion should not be seen as the apex of a career, but rather as the beginning of even more demanding responsibilities.

According to him, the rank an officer holds signifies a trust bestowed by the public and the nation, which must be managed with transparency, wisdom and sincerity to uphold peace and security. At the event, 29 senior officers were promoted to the ranks of Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Senior Assistant Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner of Police.

Additionally, three individuals were bestowed with honorary ranks to symbolize the Royal Malaysia Police's commitment to fostering extensive cooperation networks. Among the recipients were Datuk Dr Mohamed Sulaiman Sultan Suhaibuddeen, who was honored with the honorary ACP rank, and Aini Suraya Osman and Adila Abdullah, who were each awarded the honorary Deputy Superintendent of Police rank.
