Congress' Sam Pitroda questions 'use of force' against Jharkhand students

Congress leader Sam Pitroda has voiced his support for students protesting in Jharkhand over allegations of irregularities in recruitment exams. He criticized the use of force by authorities, advocating for "reform, accountability and compassion" instead. Pitroda emphasized that the students, representing India's future, deserve to be heard respectfully and their grievances addressed.

He called for the cancellation of the JSSC Combined Graduate Level examination, a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into alleged irregularities, and reforms in the recruitment process. Pitroda also highlighted the sacrifices made by students' families and the need for India's youth to trust the system. The protests, now in their 18th day, have seen police using lathis, tear gas, and water cannons to disperse demonstrators.

The Jharkhand government, a coalition led by Hemant Soren, has been criticized for its handling of the situation.
