The album is set to release on October 23rd through their newly established label, SUCK records. In anticipation of the album's release, Rose has shared a new single called "Chow Mein." The musician is also joining forces with Modest Mouse for a tour across the United States and Canada in the coming months.

Produced by John Congleton, "Gentling the Horse at the Walt Whitman Mall" delves into the surreal aspects of everyday American life, incorporating elements of surf-rock, spaghetti Western, and suburban unease. The quirky track "Chow Mein" narrates a night out gone awry, featuring lyrics like, "A bouncer at the door/ He asks for the password/ I'm already drunk cause I / Can't afford a cocktail/ I pause before I throw up all over his tailored suit."

Caroline Rose has explained that most of the stories in the album are inspired by real-life scenes, often portraying herself as the central character. The singer will embark on a tour supporting Modest Mouse, with a series of performances in the United States and Canada before heading overseas for in-store events and signings.
