Bersatu MPs will not walk out of Tabung Haji RCI sitting, says Radzi Jidin

Bersatu MPs from Malaysia will stay in the Dewan Rakyat during today's special sitting to hear the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the Tabung Haji (TH). Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, a Putrajaya MP, affirmed that the Opposition party members have no intention of abandoning the session, calling the matter too significant to be turned into a political spectacle.

He emphasized that TH is an important issue for the public and stressed there is no room for political drama. Dr Radzi had requested an extension to the debate period, asserting that the people deserve the truth. This comes after a debate in the Dewan Rakyat where Speaker questioned whether the Opposition intended to walk out, to which PN-Kota Baru's Takiyuddin Hassan responded affirmatively.

The 211-page RCI report, released on July 29, scrutinized TH's management and operations from 2014 to 2020, revealing governance flaws, interference in management by political entities, excessive hibah payments, investment risks, and accounting discrepancies. The report concluded that TH should have reported a RM1.4 billion net loss in 2017 instead of the RM3.4 billion profit stated in its financial records, after accounting for impairment losses and other adjustments.
