AirBorneo joins FLYsiswa, offers RM400 flight subsidy to eligible students

KUCHING, Aug 11 — AirBorneo Airways has joined Malaysia's government-backed FLYsiswa air travel subsidy program, providing eligible Malaysian students with a RM400 digital voucher to help offset the cost of domestic economy flights, the airline announced today. The initiative, spearheaded by the Transport Ministry, aims to alleviate travel expenses for students studying away from their home states, especially those traveling between Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.

AirBorneo's CEO, Megat Ardian Aminuddin, emphasized that airfare costs should not hinder students from returning home for semester breaks, holidays, or emergencies. "Education demands focus, dedication, and peace of mind," he stated, adding that AirBorneo's involvement in FLYsiswa demonstrates its dedication to supporting the community.

The airline will offer the voucher to eligible students enrolled at public universities, polytechnics, community colleges, matriculation colleges, and teacher education institutes. Students can verify their eligibility through the Transport Ministry's FLYsiswa platform and redeem the RM400 voucher when booking flights via AirBorneo's website or mobile app.

The voucher redemption window for AirBorneo flights extends from today until November 30, with bookings accepted until December 31. In addition to the voucher, AirBorneo will provide extra baggage allowance and free or discounted date-change options for FLYsiswa bookings, subject to the airline's terms and conditions. AirBorneo's extensive network will grant students easy access to major domestic destinations and regional hubs across Sarawak, Sabah, and Peninsular Malaysia.
