2027: Kogi Central PDP appoints campaign DG, chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi Central Senatorial District has named Dr Salami Etudaiye as the Director-General of its 2027 campaign organisation and Abubakar Karaku as the Campaign Chairman. This announcement was made on Monday during a stakeholders' meeting of the campaign organisation, which was led by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The inauguration took place after the party commenced preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The newly appointed campaign team was tasked with implementing an aggressive grassroots mobilisation strategy to ensure victory for all PDP candidates in the senatorial district. Other key members of the team include Jacob Anebe as Secretary, Ilyasu Zubair as Head of Operations, Isiaka Uhuanaye as Head of Technicals, and Jane Onoba as Head of Welfare.

During the inauguration, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan urged the campaign team to work tirelessly towards the success of all PDP candidates in Kogi Central. She emphasised that the campaign should extend beyond traditional rallies by actively engaging voters through door-to-door and polling unit-by-polling unit mobilisation. Akpoti-Uduaghan also called for inclusivity within the campaign, encouraging anyone willing to contribute to the party's success to join the movement.

Dr Etudaiye accepted his appointment as Director-General with humility and determination. He pledged to utilise his experience, energy, and organisational skills to deliver victory for the PDP. Etudaiye described the responsibility as a call to battle, stating that he accepted it to organise a movement rather than manage a polite campaign.

He emphasised the importance of covering every part of Kogi Central, including Okene, Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, and Ogori-Mangongo Local Governments, with a focus on wards, polling units, streets, markets, campuses, and households.

Campaign Chairman Abubakar Karaku congratulated the newly formed campaign organisation and urged PDP stakeholders to put the party's interests and the people's needs above personal considerations. He emphasised the importance of unity, peaceful political engagement, and positive campaigning. Karaku warned against bitterness, personal attacks, and divisive rhetoric, urging members to concentrate on building a stronger PDP and securing victory for their candidates.
