You will be held responsible for security breaches in your domain – Olubadan warns Mogajis

The traditional ruler of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, has cautioned Mogajis, the compound heads, to refrain from engaging in criminal activities. Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, emphasized that Mogajis, who serve as the practical representatives of the Olubadan within their compounds, will now be held accountable for any security breaches occurring in their domains. This warning was delivered during the installation ceremony of four new Mogajis in the ancient city of Ibadan.

The newly appointed Mogajis include Olusegun Emmanuel Ogunyemi from the Ogunwelu compound in Ibadan North East, Akeem Olalekan Alade from the Oju-Abere Compound in Inalende, Ibadan North West, Aderinto Adesoji from the Sangodeyi Ikuola Compound in Idi-Arere, Ibadan South West, and Adewale Idowu Akanmu Abonde from the Abonde Compound in Ibadan North East local government area.

In his address, Ladoja, represented by the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, congratulated the newly installed Mogajis for assuming their traditional roles. However, he issued a stern warning against involvement in nefarious activities such as land grabbing, drug abuse, corruption, and any actions that could tarnish the image of the Olubadan and Ibadanland. Ladoja stressed that the Mogajis, as his ambassadors, should embody his vision for the progress and prosperity of Ibadanland.

He specifically cautioned against engaging in activities that could cause hatred, vendetta, or social menaces, as they will be held responsible for any criminal acts within their respective domains.
