Why I left ADC for APM — Ex-DSS DG Daura

Former Katsina State governorship aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Lawal Musa Daura, has disclosed that injustice and unstable leadership within his party led him to abandon the ADC and join the Allied People’s Movement (APM). Speaking to reporters, Daura disputed allegations that he defected due to being denied the ADC governorship ticket.

He revealed that he left the party months ago, stating that his silence was intentional as he was planning his political future and realignment, not out of fear. Daura entered politics with the intention of helping to rescue Nigeria from insecurity, poor governance, and economic problems. He emphasized that his motivation was not personal ambition but his commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians and correcting the misconception that politics involves lies, dishonesty, and deception.

Describing the APM as a winning party, Daura urged Nigerians to support and vote for it in the 2027 general elections, claiming it is currently free from internal conflicts. While asked about his position within the APM, Daura declined to disclose it but expressed his willingness to contribute to Nigeria's development, regardless of whether he held a political office or not.

He affirmed his dedication to the country and pledged his continued involvement in politics for the betterment of Nigeria.
