UK Calls on Allies to Strengthen Ukraine’s Air Defense Ahead of Winter

British Defense Secretary John Healey has called on allies to bolster the delivery of air defense missiles to Ukraine prior to winter, expressing concern that Russia's persistent attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure could strain the nation's air defense system, according to UATV English. The Sunday Times reports that Healey emphasized the urgency for Ukraine's partners to take action now, ensuring the country is prepared for the winter period, when Russian strikes against energy infrastructure and other targets might escalate.

Healey stated, "I return from Kyiv with a clear understanding of what Ukraine needs to get through this winter. Where Britain can provide the resources needed, we will do so. Where we cannot, my job is to mobilize allies to find those capabilities." The British defense secretary stressed the significance of guaranteeing Ukraine's robust air defense capabilities before the winter, when protecting vital infrastructure from Russian missile and drone assaults is anticipated to become a more formidable challenge.
