TWICE's Jeongyeon leaves JYP to pursue acting career

Seoul, August 10 - TWICE member Jeongyeon, whose real name is Yoo Jeong-yeon, has made a significant career move by leaving her long-time agency JYP Entertainment and signing with Varo Entertainment, a prestigious agency that represents her older sister, actress Gong Seung-yeon. This decision marks the end of Jeongyeon's 11-year tenure with JYP, where she debuted as a member of the global K-pop sensation TWICE in 2015.

Varo Entertainment expressed their excitement about their new representative, stating that Jeongyeon possesses a diverse range of charms and endless potential. The agency's press release highlighted Jeongyeon's plans to begin her acting career while still actively participating with TWICE, one of the leading girl groups within the K-pop industry.

In a social media post, Jeongyeon candidly admitted to her initial hesitation about leaving the comfort of JYP, but credits her fellow members and the Twicce fandom, known as Once, for providing the courage needed to take this new step.
