A lobby scandal involving Jeju apartment complex and the political circle has raised concerns. The victims' countermeasures committee filed a complaint against Rep. Moon Dae-lim on the 17th, claiming that he was involved in the scandal. On the same day, the committee held a press conference at the Jeju City Hall and claimed that a high-ranking official of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Rep. Moon were involved in the lobby. The committee alleged that Moon received an apartment in the complex at a discounted price through an unfair process and that Rep. Kim Seon-kyung and former Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong were also involved in the scandal. In response, Rep. Moon released a statement, denying all allegations and announcing that he would take legal action. On the 17th, Rep. Moon said, "The allegations are groundless," adding, "I will take a strong legal action against the person who made false accusations." On the other hand, some apartment residents have been protesting in front of the Jeju City Hall since July 1, demanding a thorough investigation into the scandal.

National Assembly member Park Daeryum criticized the Jeju region's apartment investment fraud victims, filing a complaint with the Jeju City Police Station's Investigation Division on October 10th. The Investigation Division issued a complaint to Park over charges including bribery and accepting a bribe in relation to the "Effort's Haven Plaza Jeju" project. The investigation also involved Park's representative, Mr. K, who was accused of accepting bribes and providing illicit advantages.

The controversy erupted after a leaked phone conversation from 2022 revealed that Park had requested membership applications from K to support his candidacy in the 2022 Jeju gubernatorial election. In the conversation, Park allegedly discussed allowing jurisdictional restrictions and receiving gifts from K. Park commented that he would support K's campaign "if he becomes governor."

The Investigation Division contended that if the allegations are true, they represent a significant issue, as they involved using a company's resources and organizational influence to meddle in the political decision-making and election process.

Park expressed concern over the matter, stating that he received the membership applications voluntarily and did not consider it illegal. The Investigation Division urged a careful examination of each incident and the collection of objective factual evidence to ensure a thorough and timely investigation. They also highlighted that Park had received membership applications from opposition candidate Oh Yong-hun for the gubernatorial election, which raised further concerns.
