Selangor to develop ‘super app’ for local authorities

Selangor's government is developing a comprehensive application, or "super app," to consolidate the services and complaint channels of the state's 12 local authorities. This initiative aims to streamline public interactions by providing access to various local government services through a single platform. Ng Suee Lim, the state local government and tourism committee chairman, emphasized the importance of data security and confidentiality, ensuring that users' information will not be disclosed or misused.

Regular monitoring will be implemented to maintain the highest level of protection. Vendors involved in the application's development and operation will be carefully vetted to select only capable providers with a proven track record. The super app will complement existing counter services, offering assistance to those who may not be as digitally literate, particularly senior citizens and residents in rural areas.
