Professional Super Smash Bros. Melee player Juan 'Hungrybox' Debiedma experienced an intense celebration following a victory at the Supernova tournament in Baltimore. The 33-year-old, recognized as one of the 'Five Gods' in the competitive Melee scene, was in the midst of a tense 3-2 set against Hugh 'SluG' Hegarty, securing his spot in the Top 16 bracket.

After a nail-biting fifth game where he came down to his last stock, Hungrybox fainted while celebrating, marking this as his second fainting episode while playing Melee. The incident quickly became viral within the fighting game community, prompting concerns about his health. However, Hungrybox confirmed that he was unharmed and had consumed water and a lobster roll prior to the event.

He later disclosed that he likely fainted due to the loud screaming and sudden jump as he stood up from his seat, an action that had previously caused him to faint in 2021. Hungrybox attributed his weight loss journey, shedding 12 pounds since June with a strict diet and exercise routine, as a possible factor in the fainting episode.

Despite the incident, Hungrybox managed to advance to the Top 8 bracket, ultimately finishing 4th at the event.
