Paris Saint-Germain strengthens defense by signing left back Lucas Digne from Aston Villa

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has bolstered its defensive lineup by signing left-back Lucas Digne from Aston Villa on a three-year deal. The $205 million annual payment, including GST, will automatically renew at $233 million with a 10% discount. Digne, 33, was born in Paris' suburbs and previously played for PSG, Lille, Roma, Barcelona, Everton, and Villa.

An energetic defender with precise passing, he earned 64 caps for France, including at the recent World Cup where Les Bleus reached the semifinals. PSG announced the signing on Sunday without disclosing financial details, adding that the club has significantly evolved since Digne's last tenure. Meanwhile, PSG has also signed France winger Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco, preparing to kick off their Ligue 1 title defense against Rennes on August 23.
