Man drowns during maintenance work at power plant

In Kuala Langat, a contract worker tragically drowned while performing maintenance work at the cooling tower of the power plant. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) was alerted to the incident around 7:29 PM. It was discovered that the 34-year-old local man had fallen into a five-meter-deep water tank. His colleague had left to retrieve more wood, and upon his return 15 minutes later, he realized his colleague was missing.

Initially, the colleague assumed the victim had gone to the restroom, but he became concerned when he did not return. The colleague promptly informed the supervisor, who conducted a roll call and confirmed the victim was missing. The rescue operation involved personnel from Banting Fire and Rescue Station, Port Klang JBPM, and KLIA JBPM, and it concluded at 5:05 AM today. The case has been forwarded to the police for further investigation.
