A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, causing widespread damage and claiming over 100 lives. Rescue workers and volunteers in Cali, Pereira, and Manizales worked tirelessly to locate and extricate survivors from the rubble. The city of Cali suspended the Petronio Alvarez festival, and curfews were imposed in Cali, Armenia, and Manizales due to fears of looting. The US Geological Survey confirmed the quake's magnitude, while Colombia's geological service stated it was the country's strongest earthquake in the 21st century.
