‘Body in suitcase’ found in Australia turns out to be lifelike doll

Australian police investigating a suitcase containing what they believed to be a body have determined the contents were actually a lifelike doll. The suitcase was discovered by two men along the side of a road near the town of Oallen, around 230 kilometers southwest of Sydney. Initial police reports sparked widespread interest in the case, but hours later, investigators announced the discovery was not a human body after all.

Supt Linda Bradbury of the Hume Police District explained that the doll was so realistic in appearance, with clothing, hair, a nose piercing, and even marks resembling bruises and grazes, that it initially seemed human. Forensic teams confirmed the contents were not human remains, and police have since closed their investigation.

Bradbury stated that reporting the discovery was the right choice, and the pair involved had shown concern over the shocking nature of the find.
