Lobbyist tells Icac there’s not a ‘shred of evidence’ he was involved with conservative Liberal group

Lobbyist Jeremy Greenwood has told an inquiry that a right-wing Liberal Party faction, known as The Reformers, became "toxic" and he encouraged his friends to leave the group. The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is investigating allegations that prohibited donations were used to support the group, which is linked to fugitive property developer Jean Nassif.

Greenwood told the inquiry that he was more interested in policy than factional politics and that his involvement with the group was limited to social settings. He downplayed his role in the group, stating that he was working with Nationals senator Matt Canavan in 2018 while the group's co-founders were focusing on recruiting conservative Liberal Party members.

Greenwood also mentioned that he recently visited former Reformers co-founder Matt Ellis in the UK, despite Ellis declining to appear before the ICAC.
