Jetstar Crew Member Injured in Sydney Airport Near Miss With Qatar Plane

A Jetstar flight attendant suffered an injury when a Jetstar aircraft and a Qatar Airways plane narrowly avoided colliding on the tarmac at Sydney Airport on Sunday morning. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is investigating the incident, which resulted in the Jetstar cabin crew member requiring medical assistance. The Jetstar flight, JQ402, was taxiing to the Gold Coast when its pilots had to brake suddenly to avoid a collision with the Qatar Airways Boeing 777 that was being towed nearby.

Both aircraft came to a stop abruptly. The injured crew member was taken to the hospital, suffering a possible wrist fracture. No passengers were injured. The ATSB has launched an investigation into the near miss, collecting data from both aircraft, air traffic control, and eyewitnesses.
