Israeli forces kill one in Gaza as another body recovered from rubble

Retired Major General Giora Eiland, a former head of Israel's National Security Council, has declared that Gaza should remain "destroyed for generations." The general believes that Palestinian despair and destruction serve Israel's interests and that the greater the devastation, the better. Eiland argues that Israel has no interest in Gaza being rebuilt, as it would run counter to Israeli strategic objectives.

He particularly emphasizes the importance of maintaining control over the Yellow Line, a territory Israel has expanded within Gaza, which now accounts for approximately 70% of the region. Eiland rejects US President Donald Trump's 15-point Gaza plan as "pro-Hamas" and suggests that Israel should conditionally accept the plan while safeguarding its core demands.

He also criticizes Netanyahu for Israel's growing dependence on Trump's personal relationship. Israeli forces have killed at least 1,258 Palestinians and injured 4,139 since a ceasefire on October 11, 2023, with the UN Children's Fund reporting that over 300 children have been killed in Gaza over the past 10 months.
