Ferrari Monza worth £3.7m among 90 vehicles confiscated in London supercar crackdown

In a weekend crackdown on antisocial driving in London, police seized 90 vehicles, including 90 vehicles, with a combined value exceeding £8 million. Among the confiscated cars were high-end supercars such as a Ferrari Monza SP2 worth £3.7 million and other luxury vehicles like Lamborghinis, Bentleys, and Porsches. The driver of the Ferrari Monza was stopped for driving without insurance and possessing only a provisional licence, despite only having been in the car for a short time.

Police noted that many visitors to London are unaware of the licensing and policy requirements, leading to unsafe driving practices. This was the largest seizure of vehicles in the operation's five-year history. The crackdown utilized new powers allowing officers to seize vehicles involved in antisocial behaviour without issuing warnings.

Fifteen vehicles were taken under this legislation. Special Chief Inspector Geoff Tatman emphasized the operation's aim to keep roads safe and send a message against reckless driving. The operation involved 120 officers, including specialists from the Met’s Special Constabulary and Vehicle Enforcement Team. Additional crimes, such as drug dealing and immigration offences, were also discovered during the operation.
