Egyptian teenager sacrifices his life after rescuing six people from drowning

In a tragic turn of events, an 18-year-old Egyptian boy named Ziad Mohamed Ahmed Mahmoud lost his life while attempting to save six people from drowning off the coast of Alexandria. The incident unfolded at Bitash Beach in Agami district, where strong waves had carried several individuals away from the shore. Without hesitation, Ziad jumped into the water and managed to bring the six people to safety.

However, as he attempted to return to shore, he was overwhelmed by the waves and was swept out to sea, ultimately succumbing to the forces of nature. Emergency services and rescue teams were promptly dispatched upon receiving reports of the incident. Ziad's body was recovered and taken to the morgue, while prosecutors launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Alexandria's Central Administration of Tourism and Resorts paid tribute to the teenager, noting that he hailed from the Dekheila area. The administration had previously cautioned against swimming at closed beaches known for their treacherous sea conditions. They also emphasized the dangers of attempting water rescues without proper training or equipment, warning that such actions can prove fatal for the rescuer.

Tragically, Ziad's father revealed that his son had aspired to become a professional footballer and had even been accepted into El Sekka El Hadid Sporting Club, but financial constraints prevented him from pursuing the opportunity. Ziad admired footballer Mohamed Salah's journey to success and also held Sir Magdi Yacoub in high regard for his humanitarian work.

Despite the six individuals surviving the ordeal, Ziad paid the ultimate price, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness that has garnered admiration throughout Egypt.
