In the recent PRN Negeri Sembilan, 1 August, the election was held for five constituencies. Nilai constituency's incumbent Adun J Arul Kumar retained his seat, as announced by DAP Deputy General Secretary Loke Siew Fook. Arul, who previously served as DAP Negeri Sembilan deputy chairman, received support from the State DAP General Assembly and was elected based on merit.

The decision highlights DAP's broad appeal across various demographics, according to Bernama after the DAP Negeri Sembilan General Assembly meeting in Seremban. The party's confidence and trust in the newly elected assembly members are high, as their team has extensive experience, long-term collaboration, and shared dedication, with the most important aspect being their relentless commitment to each represented area.

Loke retained his position as a member of the DAP Negeri Sembilan General Assembly while continuing his role as the party's general secretary. Loke stepped down from the position after 22 years on August 3 following the party's defeat in the Dewan Undangan Negeri Chennah and Repah, which they won in the PRN 2023. Arul retained his seat on August 1, securing 15,797 votes in a five-seat contest against BN candidate Lai Chien Kong (9,860), V K Saravana from Bersatu (718), Zamani Ibrahim from Berjasa (5,844), and independent candidate Omar Isa (167).
