30 Suspected Dengue Cases Reported In Ulhasnagar, Civic Body Intensifies Monsoon Health Measures

Ulhasnagar: Following the reporting of 30 suspected dengue cases, the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation's health department has intensified preventive measures for the monsoon season. The rising risk of other diseases like malaria, chikungunya, typhoid, and diarrhoea has prompted the civic administration to take action. Waterlogging in the city, caused by open drains, pothole-ridden roads, and inadequate water drainage, has contributed to the mosquito breeding problem.

Officials are concerned that stagnant water created by rainfall may lead to an increase in vector-borne diseases. A review meeting of the health department was held to discuss the current situation of seasonal and communicable diseases in the city. Following the reported dengue cases, health department teams have been tasked with intensifying inspections for potential mosquito-breeding sites.

These include stagnant water around houses, uncovered water tanks, flower pots, discarded tires, and other containers. The civic administration has also instructed officials to carry out more cleanliness drives and increase public awareness to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases. Residents have been urged to participate in controlling mosquito-borne diseases, stressing that public cooperation is essential for the success of preventive measures.

The Medical Health Officer, Satyam Gupta, warns that the risk of dengue and malaria increases during the monsoon and advises citizens to remain vigilant. To prevent further spread of dengue and other seasonal diseases, the civic health department is closely monitoring the situation and calls for continued cooperation from residents.
