A 7-year-old golden retriever named 'Kapu' has become the 10th person to donate blood, earning the title of 'Blood Donor Dog'. This canine hero has received ten different colored donation scarves, making him feel incredibly proud. Kapu's father works at an organic dog protection center, where they learned about the importance of canine blood donations. Most of the canine blood needed in South Korea comes from these specially bred dogs.

From the age of 4, Kapu has participated in blood donations at KU Ayimodogner Blood Donation Center, run by his father. He believes that dogs who undergo blood donation efforts can help alleviate the suffering of those in need. According to the rules, dogs between 1 and 8 years old, weighing over 25 kilograms, are eligible to donate blood. They must have no history of infectious diseases and undergo monthly heart examinations.

Blood donation is not only a chance to save a friend, but also an opportunity for the dog to receive a health check-up. If Kapu ever requires medical attention, he can receive a blood packet and certificate from the donation. While Kapu may look a bit sleepy after donating, he feels comfortable and grateful for the attention from the veterinarians. They allow him to play before donating, monitor his blood pressure and weight, and perform blood tests to ensure he's in good health.

Kapu has donated blood seven times since he was 4 years old. Friends with rare blood types, like Kapu and his golden retriever siblings 'Sundal' and 'Sunshin', are particularly valuable in blood donation. Dr. Hyeonjeong, the center director, emphasized the importance of blood donations by noting that blood cannot be artificially produced. She also shared her desire to help save lives through blood donation.

In a serious case where a friend was suspected of having hemolytic anemia, Kapu's donation helped save the dog's life and enable a swift recovery. Kapu promises to continue donating blood whenever possible, inviting friends to join him in this noble cause.
