He was found unconscious at around 10:30 a.m. on the 22nd while cleaning a tank, and was pronounced dead at the hospital at around 12:30 p.m. The police and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency are investigating the cause of the accident, and it is estimated that the man died from asphyxiation due to the inhalation of harmful gas while working in the confined space of the tank. The labor union of Maeil Dairytech expressed deep regret over the accident, saying, "We are deeply saddened by the news of the worker's death." The union also emphasized the need for measures to prevent similar accidents in the future, saying, "We will do our best to ensure that the truth about the accident is revealed and that similar accidents do not recur."
