Zelenskyy Says North Korea Is Learning Modern Warfare From Russia

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that North Korea is learning modern warfare tactics from Russia, which could lead to an escalation of tensions in the Pacific region. In an interview with Ukraine's national telethon "United News," Zelenskyy revealed that a significant number of North Korean military personnel have been stationed in Russia, and Russia is now deploying between 30,000 and 50,000 North Koreans on its soil.

Zelenskyy explained that these troops are there to learn modern warfare from Russia, and that North Korea will gain experience in this area from Russia. He also noted that Ukrainian forces have discovered North Korean missiles on Ukrainian territory, firmly stating that this is an established fact. Zelenskyy believes that Russia's cooperation with North Korea could have ramifications beyond the ongoing war in Ukraine, as Pyongyang may employ the knowledge, technology, and military assets acquired from Moscow to bolster its own armed forces.

In response, Zelenskyy expressed Ukraine's openness to strengthening ties with South Korea, particularly in areas where Ukraine is facing shortages such as air defense systems. He acknowledged that South Korea has legal restrictions on military cooperation due to its Constitution, but said that Ukrainian and South Korean diplomats are already discussing potential forms of collaboration.

The president highlighted that Ukraine is eager for support and is counting on South Korea's involvement. The interview comes as Russia and North Korea are simultaneously intensifying their military and logistical cooperation, including the completion of a cross-border bridge that will facilitate strategic and military supplies between the two nations.
