Two brothers arrested over alleged murder of 54-year-old man, shooting of wife at Tuba

The Accra Regional Police Command announced the arrest of two brothers, Adams Adder Almeida and his brother Bala Bayon, for the alleged murder and shooting incident at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija. This took place on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Police spokespersons revealed the arrests were made with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET). The incident report was issued on Sunday, August 9.

According to the police, officers from Weija Police Station were alerted to a shooting at the residence of Mohammed Rahman, 54, and his wife, Christiana Fosu, on Beach Drive Estate. Upon arrival, they found both victims suffering from gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment. Rahman succumbed to his injuries at Fieney Hospital, while his wife received medical care for her wounds.

The police later arrested Adams Adder Almeida, who allegedly confessed during questioning to shooting the couple. He reportedly stated that he and the victims resided in the same house at Tuba. The suspect also mentioned that the firearm used in the attack was provided by a friend named Gideon. Following this information, investigators visited Gideon’s residence but could not locate him. Police efforts to locate Gideon continue.

Adams Adder Almeida's brother, Bala Bayon, has also been apprehended and is aiding the investigation. The Accra Regional Police Command has not disclosed Bala's alleged role in the incident. The authorities are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting and are searching for Gideon, who is believed to have supplied the firearm.
