Police arrest two suspects over murder of 54-year-old man, shooting of wife at Tuba

The Accra Regional Police Command apprehended two individuals, Adams Adder Almeida and his brother Bala Bilyon, in relation to the murder of 54-year-old Mohammed Rahman and the shooting of his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, in Tuba, Greater Accra Region. The crime took place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Beach Drive Estate.

Weija Police received intelligence about the shooting at the estate and promptly dispatched a team. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victims with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment. Rahman, Mohammed, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife, Christiana Fosu, was taken to Finney Hospital for treatment. She was later transferred to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further care and remains hospitalized.

During questioning, Adams Adder Almeida confessed to the shooting, claiming his motivation stemmed from Rahman's frequent derogatory remarks about him. He led authorities to his brother's room, where a pistol, believed to be the murder weapon, was found concealed beneath the wall drop. The police discovered that both suspects shared a room at Tuba and that Adams Almeida received the gun from a friend named Gideon.

Attempts are underway to locate Gideon for further investigation, while Bala Bilyon is currently in custody and being interrogated. The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.
