Passage: Remembering Jeanne Gibson, a.k.a. "Rosie the Riveter"

Jeanne Gibson, who at age 18 joined the war effort by becoming a "Rosie the Riveter" to help build Navy destroyers as a welder, died July 29, 2026 at age 100. Seth Doane looks back on the life of a woman who stepped up during World War II. Gibson later earned a Ph.D. and worked as an educator, while continuing to tell the story about the contributions of millions of Rosies during World War II.
