Pakistan’s foreign minister outlines seven key points on Mecca Defense Pact

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has provided detailed insights into the recently signed Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, which now includes Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. According to Dar, the agreement is the culmination of years of diplomatic discussions and coordination among the three nations. The agreement, as outlined by Dar on his X account, is open to any regional country that is willing to adhere to its fundamental principles.

These principles emphasize resolving conflicts through mutual respect, cooperation, and peaceful means. Dar also highlighted that the agreement represents the strong bonds of friendship between the leaderships and people of the three participating nations.

Crucially, Dar emphasized that the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement does not supersede or cancel any existing bilateral or multilateral agreements held by these countries or with other states and organizations. He stressed that any external armed attack on one of the member states will be perceived as an attack on all three nations, underscoring the agreement's defensive nature.
