NDC chairman calls for timely distribution of sanitation equipment to districts

Peter Abaje, the chairman of the National Democratic Congress in the Asante Akyem North Constituency, has urged the government to expedite the distribution of sanitation equipment to local assemblies. He believes that providing the necessary tools will empower assemblies to tackle sanitation issues and keep communities clean. Abaje made this plea during a sanitation drive organised by the NDC in the Asante Akyem North Constituency at Ananekrom.

He emphasized that poor sanitation and environmental degradation pose serious risks to public health, livelihoods, and sustainable development, necessitating more robust actions from the government and other stakeholders. He therefore implored the government to boost funding for sanitation and environmental preservation, while ensuring assemblies receive the resources required to fulfill their duties.

Meanwhile, the Queenmother of Ananekrom, Nana Yaa Fosuaa, underscored the importance of environmental protection in the municipality. She appealed to residents and local authorities to work together in maintaining cleanliness and health in their communities, noting that sanitation upkeep demands collective responsibility and consistent efforts from both authorities and citizens.
