Disaster response force deployed to trace missing trekker at Shivagange

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has joined the police in a search operation for 32-year-old Advaith Upadhyaya, a private company employee from Mythri Layout in East Bengaluru. Mr. Upadhyaya went missing on Friday, August 7, after trekking near Dobbspet in Nelamangala. The teams are facing challenges due to constant rain, making it difficult to trace his movements.

CCTV footage shows Mr. Upadhyaya parking his rental bike, climbing Shivagange Hill, and reaching the top, but no footage has been found of him descending. Police are investigating two possibilities: an accident or a case of attention diversion. The last known location of his mobile phone was near Kudur Road deviation near Dobbspet.

His fiancé, after multiple unanswered phone calls, alerted the Kadugodi police, who then informed the Dobbspet police and deployed special teams to search for the missing individual. The search operation will continue with police teams stationed at Shanthala Drop, where the last CCTV footage was captured.
