Kuching tuan rumah sambutan Hari Malaysia 2026

Malaysian Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced that this year's Malaysia Day celebration will take place at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) in Sarawak, as it was chosen for its capacity and space during the first preparatory meeting held on Monday. "The subsequent meeting will be held on 24 August to prepare for the Malaysia Day celebration," he told reporters after attending the Excellence and Prestige Award Japan@Petronas program at Petronas NPE Inner Harbour.

Malaysia Day, held annually on September 16th, commemorates the establishment of the Malaysian federation. Meanwhile, Fahmi stated that Prasarana Malaysia Bhd has committed to providing 24-hour public transportation services for Malaysia Day celebrations in Putrajaya on August 30th and 31st. He said this is an improvement compared to previous years, especially to facilitate the ease of citizens attending the event in Putrajaya.

"This is an improvement compared to before. But we also take into account that other facilities will be upgraded. But today, I can announce that Prasarana has committed to operating 24 hours," he said. He hopes this will help more people not only come to Putrajaya but also go back or return after the National Day program.
