Kuala Lumpur: This year's Malaysia Day celebration will take place at the Borneo Convention Center Kuala (BCCK) in Sarawak, Prime Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced. The decision to select BCCK was made after the first meeting of the celebration preparations on Monday, with the location chosen due to its capacity and space suitability.

The next meeting is scheduled for August 24 as preparations for the Malaysia Day celebration, stated Fahmi during a press conference following his participation in the Express Express Gemilang Japen@Petronas event at Petronas NPE Beachside. Malaysia Day celebrations are held annually on September 16 to commemorate the formation of the Malaysian federation.

Meanwhile, Fahmi said that Malaysia Communications committed to providing round-the-clock public transport services during the national day celebration in Putrajaya on August 30 and 31.
