Kindiki calls for Mt Kenya unity, defends Ruto administration

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called for the people of Mount Kenya to remain united as the region prepares for the 2027 General Elections. Kindiki stressed that political competition should not tear communities apart or erode peace, emphasizing that elections are temporary while communities and the nation endure. He urged residents to uphold the unity that has historically characterized the region's political, economic, and social life, citing past leaders such as Jomo Kenyatta, Mwai Kibaki, and Uhuru Kenyatta as examples of the region's unwavering support.

Kindiki cautioned against using insults, violence, or destruction of property during political disagreements, insisting that voters should assess leaders based on their achievements rather than political rhetoric. He encouraged voters to give their records and those of their opponents, stating that whoever wins becomes their leader, while those who lose should remain leaders, awaiting their next opportunity.

Kindiki reiterated his commitment to defending the unity of the country and the region, asserting that politics is a temporary competition, and unity will persist regardless of election outcomes. He declared his intention to stay within the Kenya Kwanza administration and continue supporting President William Ruto's leadership, urging the region to remain engaged with the government and contribute to its development agenda.

Kindiki praised Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome for her courage and determination in implementing government programmes, highlighting projects in markets, housing, and the issuance of title deeds as proof of the administration's commitment to improving citizens' lives.
