Iran releases video of Mojtaba Khamenei amid health rumours

Iranian state-controlled Mehr news agency has released a video of Mojtaba Khamenei, the new Supreme Leader, amid ongoing concerns about his health. This comes months after his father and predecessor, Ali Khamenei, was killed in a US-Israeli airstrike on February 28. The video, posted on the agency's website on Saturday, showcases Mojtaba Khamenei in good health and appeared for the first time in public.

The 12-second clip, showing him seated on a carpet in a closed room, depicts the 56-year-old leader interacting with people around him, dressed in a black turban and grey robe over white clothing. It remains unclear when and where the video was shot. Mojtaba Khamenei has issued multiple written statements through state-run news agencies since his appointment as Iran's third supreme leader on March 8, but has not provided any images or voice recordings. He also did not attend his father's funeral ceremonies last month.
