Fernandez dominates to win British MotoGP at Silverstone

Raul Fernandez emerged victorious in the British MotoGP at Silverstone, outpacing championship leader Jorge Martin by a margin of 2.5 seconds. The 25-year-old, who faced a crash during Saturday's sprint, secured his second MotoGP win in commanding fashion. Martin, who started on pole, encountered technical difficulties during Turn One, briefly dropping to fourth but managed to recover and finish behind Fernandez.

Despite the setback, Martin's points lead at the top of the championship widened to 31 points. Bezzecchi of Martin's Aprilia team secured third place on the podium, advancing to the second position in the championship. Ai Ogura, who failed to finish the race for the first time this season, dropped to third. Defending champion Marc Marquez concluded the race in seventh place, placing him fourth in the overall standings.

Six additional riders failed to complete the race, including Alex Rins, Joan Mir, Enea Bastianini, Iker Lecuona, Cal Crutchlow, and Francesco Bagnaia. MotoGP has recently reaffirmed its commitment to the British Grand Prix, securing the event's place on the calendar until at least 2028. The next race in the 2026 season will take place at the Aragon Grand Prix in Spain on August 30th.
