MotoGP British GP: Returning Marco Bezzecchi tops Friday practice as Aprilia dominates

On Friday, Aprilia secured a 1-2 finish in practice for the MotoGP British Grand Prix with rider Marco Bezzecchi topping the timesheets. Bezzecchi, who had returned from a collarbone fracture, broke the circuit record at Silverstone by nearly a second. Trackhouse's Ai Ogura initially led the session, but was quickly challenged by Aprilia's first team-mate, Raul Fernandez, and then Bezzecchi himself.

Fabio di Giannantonio secured third place on his VR46 Ducati, just behind championship leader Jorge Martin. As the session progressed, Jorge Martin took the fourth spot, closely followed by Ogura in fifth. Alex Marquez claimed seventh place, while Joan Mir finished eighth for Honda. The top 10 was completed by Pramac's Jack Miller and KTM rider Pedro Acosta, who crashed at Brooklands with five minutes remaining.

Notably, Enea Bastianini and Luca Marini narrowly missed a direct entry into Q2, while Francesco Bagnaia will also be forced into the first part of qualifying after crashing late and finishing 13th.
