Engineer, lawyer, CAs: Meet the 12 members leading Cockroach Janta Party

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a team of 12 individuals to lead its youth-focused political campaign. The group comprises professionals from diverse backgrounds, including journalism, technology, law, public policy, finance, and business. This mix aims to reflect the kind of young, professionally diverse leadership the organisation hopes to build.

The announcement was made after the CJP concluded its 36-day protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, following the acceptance of its key demands. On the same day, the party held a two-day meeting in Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, where it unveiled its organisational structure for the next six months.

The team, led by Abhijeet Dipke and Ashutosh Ranka as co-conveners, brings with it a wide range of qualifications and responsibilities. Dipke, a journalism and public relations graduate from Pune and Boston University, respectively, will serve as the National Convener. Ranka, an IIT Kanpur alumnus with a Master's in Public Administration from the London School of Economics, will co-convene the party.

Other members include Saurav Das, Ajinkya Shinde, Deepak Baliyan, Aafreen Nawaz, Vijay Reddy Mallangi, Ratna Singh, Vaishnavi Gaur, Rohan Deshpande, Yogesh Ingale, Ankit Bharadwaj, and an entrepreneur holding an MBA and currently serving as an entrepreneur. Their roles span across various departments such as organisation, media, legal affairs, research and policy, technology, finance, and east and north-east zones.
