Diriyah signs Senegal's Idrissa Gana Gueye from Everton

Diriyah FC has officially signed Senegalese international footballer Idrissa Gana Gueye from English Premier League side Everton. The club announced the signing on Sunday, looking to strengthen their squad in preparation for the upcoming season. Diriyah shared a video of Gueye signing his contract, with a caption that read: "Here in the cradle of champions... from the cup of glory to Idrissa’s cup."

Idrissa Gueye embarked on his professional career at French club Lille before transferring to the Premier League, initially with Aston Villa and subsequently Everton, where he made a significant impact. In 2019, Gueye joined Paris Saint-Germain, contributing to their domestic treble and reaching the 2020 UEFA Champions League final. Following a successful stint in Paris, he returned to Everton until the summer of 2026. However, Gueye has now transferred to Diriyah before his contract concludes.

Throughout his career, Gueye has made 569 appearances across various clubs, netting 24 goals and providing 23 assists, solidifying his position as one of the leading midfielders of his generation. Representing Senegal internationally, he has made 135 appearances, scoring seven goals, and was part of the national team during the most recent World Cup held in North America.
