Belagavi: BJP seeks immediate drought relief

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka has called for immediate drought relief measures from the state government. N. Ravikumar, a BJP Member of Legislative Council (MLC), made these demands in Belagavi district on Sunday, August 9. He and a delegation of BJP legislators visited various drought-stricken villages in the region, including Yaragatti, Ramadurga, Sopadla, Chandargi, and Kadakol.

Ravikumar criticized the lack of a dedicated Agriculture Minister, stating that the Congress party should resolve internal disputes and allocate ministerial portfolios. He also alleged that Rahul Gandhi and other senior Congress leaders were using Karnataka to fund the party's activities, suggesting that ATMs were set up in multiple locations for this purpose.

Ravikumar further accused the Congress of internal divisions and ego issues among its leaders, resulting in a vertical split within the party. He highlighted the discontent among farmers due to the drought and the government's apparent apathy towards the situation. The BJP MLC also criticized the BJP's recent Cabinet expansion, alleging that it had alienated several communities, particularly OBC groups, who felt marginalized in the process.

Additionally, Ravikumar expressed concern over the alleged presence of Bangladeshi infiltrators in the state and urged the government to intensify its efforts to deport them.
