Three members of three families suffered injuries after a tree fell across Jalan Macalister in Penang Island, Malaysia. The incident occurred in George Town, where a team of bomb disposal experts attempted to clear the road. John Sagun Francis, the acting Penang Operations and Explosives Coordinator, received an emergency call at 9:12 AM with eight members from the Penang Road Authority Bomb Squad asked to assist.

Three people trapped inside the vehicle were successfully removed before the bomb squad arrived, according to a statement. Francis explained that bomb squad members and local authorities worked together to cut down and clear the fallen tree to ensure public safety and maintain traffic flow. Meanwhile, Tanjong Lim Hui Ying, the Penangite MP and Deputy Minister for Women, Children, and Family Affairs, reported that three people were confirmed injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Lim stated that his team is en route to the incident location for more information and to provide necessary assistance. He urged the public to exercise caution and obey traffic regulations in the affected area.
