Three families suffered injuries after a tree fell across Jalan Macalister in George Town, Penang. In a statement, John Sagun Francis, the Acting Director of Penang Operations and Explosives Branch, said his team received an emergency call at 9:12 am with eight members from the Perak Road Fire Brigade responding. Three individuals trapped inside the vehicle were successfully extracted by the public before the arrival of the bomb squad, according to the report.

The bomb squad, along with local authorities, conducted a cutting and cleanup operation to ensure public safety and traffic flow. Meanwhile, Tanjong Lim Hui Ying, a Member of Parliament for Tanjong Lim, serving as the Deputy Minister for Women, Family, and Community, stated that as of now, three injuries have been reported and the patients have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Lim's team is en route to the incident location to gather more information and provide necessary assistance. It is hoped that all victims are safe, and residents passing through the area are advised to exercise caution and follow traffic regulations at the incident site, as announced on Facebook.
