28 arrested as Kano task force raids drug dens

The Kano State Multi-Joint Task Force on Drug Abuse and Related Crimes conducted raids, arresting 28 suspects and dismantling five drug dens in Rimin Gado and Doka communities. The operation took place on Friday, with Dr Ibrahim Garba Muhammad, the committee secretary, stating that illicit substances of various types were seized.

Task force chairman Muhuyi Magaji emphasized the equal enforcement of the law across the state, under the slogan "Kano First." He expressed a commitment to ensuring a peaceful, prosperous, and drug-free state, extending the anti-drug campaign beyond Kano's city limits to all 44 local government areas. Investigations are ongoing, and those found guilty will face prosecution.

The task force also aims to collaborate with community leaders, health workers, and educational institutions to prevent drug abuse and support rehabilitation efforts. The force emphasized that legitimate businesses were not the target, but rather, they aimed to safeguard businesses and communities from the detrimental effects of drug trafficking and abuse.

The task force appealed to residents to report any suspicious activities or information related to drug trafficking and abuse.
