2 tornadoes touch down in southwestern Ontario as storms blow through region

Two tornadoes touched down in southwestern Ontario on Saturday as severe storms swept through the region, according to the Northern Tornadoes Project. One tornado struck near Lindsay, Ontario, while a second touched down in Woodstock. The Woodstock tornado prompted Environment Canada to issue a tornado warning, warning of damaging winds, large hail, and intense rainfall.

Both tornadoes were initially assessed as EF0, the lowest on the scale, with wind speeds between 65 and 85 kilometers per hour. The Northern Tornadoes Project stated they do not plan to send a survey team to either location due to the minor reported damage. Cleanup efforts in Woodstock continue, addressing tree damage on sidewalks, boulevards, and in parks, and a cricket field fence was closed following its damage.
