Wei Chong-Wooi Yik set up all-Malaysian Korea Masters men doubles’ final

Malaysia's doubles team, Man Wei Chong-Soh Wooi Yik, advanced to an all-Malaysian final at the Korea Masters after defeating Japan's Haruki Kawabe-Kenta Matsukawa in a close semi-final match. The pair triumphed after overcoming a 18-21 loss in the first game, securing a 22-20 victory in the second, and ultimately winning 21-18 in the deciding set.

This victory marks their first final since joining forces under the guidance of national men's doubles coach Herry Iman Pierngadi last month. In the next round, they will face off against their countrymen, Tee Kai Wun-Yap Roy King, who advanced following a walkover due to Japan's Shuji Sawada-Daigo Tanioka's withdrawal from the other semi-final.

Meanwhile, Malaysia's singles star, Cheam June Wei, saw his tournament end with a loss to China's Zhu Xuan Chen in a grueling semi-final, with the score ending 21-8, 16-21, 12-21 in a 58-minute contest. This defeat also put an end to Malaysia's hope in the men's singles event.
