Kai Wun-Roy King storm into Korea Masters semis

In the recent Korea Masters, Malaysia's men's doubles team Tee Kai Wun-Yap Roy King advanced to the semi-finals after a swift victory over fellow Malaysians Aaron Chia-Aaron Tai. The duo, who are only playing in their third tournament together, triumphed 21-12, 21-15 in just 28 minutes at the Yi Sun-sin Gymnasium in Asan, South Korea. This success came after the team had been eliminated in the opening rounds of their previous two tournaments – the Taipei Open and China Masters.

Their upcoming opponents in the semi-finals will be either Japan's Shuji Sawada-Daigo Tanioka or Taiwan's He Zhi Wei-Huang Jui Hsuan. However, in the mixed doubles event, Malaysia experienced setbacks. The new pair Chen Tang Jie-Clarissa San were eliminated by Japan's Haruki Kawabe-Kokona Ishikawa, losing 22-20, 21-17 in 35 minutes.

Their teammate Jimmy Wong-Cheng-Styria lost to top Korean pair Kim Jae Hyeon-Jang-Jang Ha Jeong in a grueling 43-minute match, 17-21, 18-21. Lastly, Loo Bing Kun-Noraqilah Ramdan, who had displayed promise in the earlier rounds, was defeated by Chinese pair Gao Jia Xuan-Wu Meng Ying in a 31-minute contest, 14-21, 15-21.
