Ukraine warns of tough winter as Russia strikes kill 4 in Kyiv region

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky disclosed that Russia's recent attacks and shelling in the Kyiv region resulted in four deaths during a visit to Belgrade. The Ukrainian leader stated that the strikes, which primarily target Ukraine's energy infrastructure, have left the country with virtually no functioning thermal power plants as it prepares for the upcoming winter.

Zelensky, alongside Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, emphasized the precise targeting of Russia's missiles, which aim to make life for Ukrainians unbearable. The ongoing assaults have led to a surge in civilian casualties and strained the already fragile relationship between the two nations. Meanwhile, both sides have ramped up their long-range strikes, with Ukraine retaliating with a record number of drone attacks.

Zelensky reiterated his demand for more US-made Patriot interceptors and other Western air defenses, while calling for stricter sanctions on Russia to prevent the flow of missile components into the country.
